Forest County Potawatomi Community Center
Crandon, WI
The Forest County Potawatomi Community Center in Crandon, Wisconsin, was designed to promote well-being, host large gatherings, and serve as a hub for formal and cultural education for the Forest County Potawatomi community. With a 20,000-square-foot fieldhouse with synthetic turf, a 20,000-square-foot gymnasium that seats 1,500 people, and various educational spaces, such as classrooms, a wood shop, and makerspaces, the community center has the space and amenities to support the community for years to come.
Ramlow/Stein collaborated with RDG Planning & Design to provide architectural design services for this impressive facility. Ramaker contributed aquatic engineering and design services for the facility’s 11,000 square feet of total pool area.
Aquatic facility design for the Forest County Potawatomi Community Center
Located between the facility’s fieldhouse and gymnasium, the aquatic facility includes a wading pool with a zero-depth entry basin and spray features for younger swimmers, a six-lane lap pool for swim practice, swimming lessons, and group exercise classes, an activity pool, a waterslide, and a whirlpool with elevated sidewalls for ADA accessibility.
The view from the aquatic center adds to the appeal of the facility’s pools. Visitors can enjoy panoramic views of the 5,000-acre wood surrounding the community center while lounging in the whirlpool, playing in the activity pool, or plunging down the water slide.
Badger Swimpools provided pool construction services for the aquatic facility.
