DeForest Area High School Pool
DeForest, WI
In 2019, the DeForest Area School District decided to invest in a modern aquatics facility that would provide competitive, instructional, recreational, and therapeutic swimming opportunities for the growing DeForest community. The district selected Ramaker to provide aquatic design and engineering services for its new high school swimming pool.
Having collaborated with Milwaukee-based Eppstein Uhen Architects (EUA) to evaluate DeForest Area High School’s previous pool in 2017, Ramaker’s aquatics team was intimately familiar with the school district’s needs. The firm’s aquatic engineers worked alongside EUA—which provided architectural design services for the high school’s new aquatic facility—the school district, and other project team members to navigate the aquatic design and construction plan development stages of the project.
The result is a sleek eight-lane competition pool with ramp access and a 12-foot diving well with a one-meter diving board. Additionally, the natatorium now has great daylighting along with wonderful spectator sight lines from the elevated bleachers.
