ramaker: 1st slidewheel in the united states
RAMAKER is thrilled to announce that we will be engineering the installation of the first SlideWheel in the US in 2021! Mt. Olympus Water and Theme Park in the Dells has purchased a SlideWheel, which will be located along Wisconsin Dells Parkway.
Haven’t heard of a SlideWheel before? Think Ferris wheel combined with a water slide to create the world’s first and only rotating water slide. It looks like a giant twisted knot of colorful plastic tubes, but if you were to unravel it, you would find it’s actually one long water slide. Every 30 seconds, rafts are launched into the perpetually spinning SlideWheel where they are propelled by both gravity and momentum of the rotating flume. That results in a two-minute ride with raft speeds topping out at 25 miles per hour, making you wonder which way is up. It’s a first-of-its-kind anchor attraction with a first-of-its-kind ride experience.
Nick Laskaris, Owner of Mt. Olympus, is always looking out for the next great attraction for his guests and the SlideWheel will not disappoint.
The attraction was purchased through WhiteWater West Industries and engineering work at the site will be performed by RAMAKER. This attraction is a triple award winner globally with an IAAPA Impact Award, TEA Thea Award, and WWA Leading Edge Award already on the list.
There is a SlideWheel in China and orders from other amusement parks around the world, but this will be the first attraction of its kind in the United States. It’s very fitting that Mt Olympus will be home to this fantastic SlideWheel and we bet the line to ride it will be around the block!
